State and National Meets

 

School Year 2004 - 2005

 

General Information

 

It is each family's responsibility to pay for the transportation, food, lodging, and entry fees for each member of their family traveling to the meet.  The club will provide financial aid (to the extent possible) to those families for whom participation would otherwise be impossible. 

 

In general, we will travel on the Friday before and the Monday after each event. 

 

All Kindergarten-3rd graders must be accompanied by a parent.  4th - 8th graders may travel under the supervision of another parent with a signed consent form.  However, there must be an adult in every hotel room.  That means we need at least one responsible parent for each 3-4 older children.

Transportation It is your option to drive your own vehicle or travel with the team.  We have reserved a 55 passenger Coach USA Bus.  If it is full, the per person cost will be $65 round trip.  It will leave from the T. H. Rogers parking lot around 11:30 am on Friday, November 19th.  That Friday is early dismissal and the start of the week long Thanksgiving holiday.  We will sightsee on Monday in Dallas until about 3 pm and return to the school parking lot by about 8 pm.
Hotel Each room is $75 per night (plus 13% tax) and they will allow up to 5 per room.  Therefore, you are welcome to share rooms to keep the cost down.  There must, however, be one adult per room.  My understanding is that if we make the room reservations through the school, we will save the state tax.  We will look into this.
