Program Information

 

To Register for the Chess Program:

  1. Complete a Chess Program Registration Form for each child participating in either club or class.  Place it with the appropriate fee in the chess club mail drawer in the main office at school.  Looking at the wall of drawers, our's is on the far right, just below the midpoint. 

  1. Please note that you also have the option of paying the fees online through the PTO shopping cart.

  2. Or, registration materials can be mailed to:

    Or, your child may bring it with them to their first club meeting.

     

  3. If mailing the form, please email me at timartha@swbell.net and let me know your child's name, age, grade, playing experience, and which days they will be attending.  Their paperwork will probably not catch up with them for a week or two.

  4. Some of the Wednesday classes require parent volunteers.   To do so, please complete HISD's  Access to Police Records form.  It should be turned into the school office.

  5. Get your volunteer assignment by contacting our Program or Volunteer Coordinator.

  1. Elementary parents must inform the child's teacher in writing (and the YMCA if the child goes there for after school care) if their child is going to chess club on Tuesday or one of the chess classes.

To Register for a class:

  1. Please contact the program coordinator to discuss placement and class availability.

  1. If the child is attending club, a second form is not needed.  Also, both fees can be included on the same check.  Otherwise, follow the same directions as above.
