If we have enough interest, we will be offering one or two weekly small group chess classes after school.  They would run from 3 - 4:30 pm on Wednesday or Friday or both.  Both classes would be with Coach David John and have no more than 10 students.  These classes would be a different format from the regular Tuesday chess club, and would be geared to the more serious tournament player.  To make them work, we won't be putting 1st graders with 8th graders.... so we may not be able to accomodate all requests.  The students playing ability must be in a narrow enough range to make serious group instruction worthwhile.

There will be a separate fee for the class.  Based on 10 students per class, it would be $75 per student per semester (or about $5 per class).  If just a handful of kids are interested, we may need to up that amount if the parents are still interested.

I know we won't be able to make everyone happy, but we will try our best to put together 1 or 2 groups.  If I get a strong response right away, we could start as early as next week.

What I need from you if you want your child to participate is:
 

• Child's name
• Child's grade
• Indicate whether your child is available:   Wednesday only,   Friday only or   Either day
