We have 22 kids going to the state
meet...assuming everyone stays or gets healthy. If you look at the list
below, you will see that we actually have at least 4 players on each of
the championship teams, so that is exciting.

Friday
Classes
There will be no Friday after school classes. We are
recommending that everyone get on the road at pick up time right from the
school, if possible. Leaving and 3 pm and stopping for a little dinner
will get you to Dallas at about 8 pm. Leave an hour for checking in and
settling into the room and the kids might actually get to bed by 9 pm. As
you know, being well rested is extremely important.
Saturday
Morning meet in Team Room
Our team room was changed at the last minute.... we are now in
TRINITY 1.
I have attached links to the hotel floor plan. The kids are playing in
the Lone Star Ballroom on the
2nd floor.
>From the tournament hall, Trinity 1 is across the guest bridge, take the
hallway to the right all of the way to the end and go up that set of
elevators to the
3rd floor. The room is right where you get off.
On Saturday, you need to check into the team room absolutely no later than
1 hour before your first round. You may come earlier.

Note that 4 of Coach Jeff's students and a couple of parents from
Annunciation Orthodox will join us in the team room and will help to
defray the cost of the room and coaches. Please be welcoming.
Team T-Shirts
Remember we are wearing our black team t-shirts both days. If
you want a second shirt, let me know. Coaches, it would be nice if you
wore them on Sunday, in particular, for pictures.
Food
We will provide snacks and a joint lunch in the team room on both Saturday
and Sunday. However, at the State Grade in Plano, we did not collect
enough money to recover our costs. I am not charging on a per item basis,
but I expect you to contribute enough that the club does not take a hit.
If anyone wants to help by transporting some items, please let me know.
Things that
would be Nice!
- If anyone has an electric 10 - 12 cup coffee maker they would
be willing to bring along, that would be nice. (My husband will be
using ours here in Houston!) The club still has plenty of foam cups
and supplies from our last tournament. Just need the coffee maker and
the filters that fit it.
- A hot pot might also be nice for tea.
- Trinity 1 is so far away from the tournament hall, a set of
walkie-talkies might come in handy.
Let me know if you would be willing to bring any of these items. That
way I will know whether to bring hot drink cups, etc.
If I have forgotten anything, please feel free to ask. Jim has been home
sick all week, so I am hoping like heck he is feeling better soon! Think
get well fast thoughts!
