Tournament Results

Congratulations to the T. H. Rogers Chess team for a tremendous showing at the Houston Chess Association's December 13th Team Tournament.  We entered 4 full teams plus one additional player to the HSCA team tournament this past weekend and they all played extremely well.  A team consists of 4 players assigned a specific board order.  The team captain plays board 1 and his or her teammates are assigned to boards 2, 3, or 4 depending upon experience and playing strength.  The order stays the same throughout the tournament.  The teams are allowed to pick a name for this event.  Very few schools send exact multiples of 4 to the tournament, so "extra players" are placed on mixed teams.  Our "extra" player, Kindergartner Alvin Xiong, played well on a mixed team with children from 3 other schools.  Our full T. H. Rogers teams competed in 3 of the 7 divisions of this K-adult tournament.  The results are as follows:
