TCA membership for State Grade Tournament

Sent 11/4/04

I have had a number of people ask about the Texas Chess Association (TCA) membership requirement for the State Grade.  As I said before, you may join the TCA if you wish, the fees and procedure are listed below.  See the TCA web site for further information on the benefits of membership.  All that is required for entry into the tournament, however, is the $1 fee.  So, instead of $28 you pay $29.  The tournament organizers will pay the $1 fee to the TCA for you.  If you play in the Texas State Scholastic in February, you will also owe another $1 fee for that tournament.  If you have already sent your registration without the $1 fee, you may pay it when you get to Plano.

Parents, only about half of you have told me if you are going to Plano or not.  Also, I have had people ask me about rides (both offering and wanting).  I don't want to be in the middle.  Please you this forum to get together.

Thanks,
Martha
