Thanks for the Support

Wow!  I had a ton of help today and the kids were a bunch of angels.  Don't know if all of the emails convinced parents to talk with their kids, but they were all  models of citizenship.  We had a lovely afternoon.  I also had a lot of parents who just showed up.  Thank you.  But, to avoid the "feast or famine" approach to chess club management, if you would contact Yachin Bao our volunteer coordinator and schedule a slot, I would be grateful.  We still have some Tuesdays between now and winter break with no volunteers scheduled.  10 volunteers one day and none the next is a good recipe for giving me an ulcer.  Of course, you are always welcome to just show up and lend a hand, I am just less stressed knowing in advance that I have a full complement of volunteers.  So, come anytime.

A quick note:  the last round of our current in-house tournament will be postponed for a week.  We will have chess club as usual in the cafeteria, but the elementary art room (which we use for the tournament) will be in use as a polling place for the presidential election.

Again, thank you for your support today and every day.  I still look forward to any other comments you might have, and will get back to you in a couple of days on any changes we might try implementing.  Remember, you can reach Yachin at dryachinbao@yahoo.com or 713-839-7229.

Martha
