Chess Ends Tonight
Remember that tonight is our last night of summer chess. Thursday
nights are "club" nights. You do not have to sign up in advance. Just
drop in if you are in town. Location and directions are on our web

Klein
Back-To-School: August 19th
Our first scholastic chess tournament of
the season is the Klein Back-to-School, August 19th. If you have not
already done so, please get your registration in to Mr. Liptrap and
confirm with me (by email) your attendance. Details and the entry form

- Please note: 6th Grade Camp is the same day.... so 6th graders
should not sign up for this tournament!
- This tournament is before our first chess club. You need to sign
up now to get the discounted rate. Entries received by August 16th
are only $10.
- I need to schedule the coaching, so let me know if you plan on
attending.
Fall
Semester
Fall registration materials will go out the first week of school. Chess
Club starts on August 22 and classes start the following day. I am
assuming that all students who were in class last year will be
continuing this coming year unless I hear differently. Please let me
know if you intend on dropping class. For planning purposes, if your
child is an elementary student with a rating under 900 (or unrated)
assume your class will be on Wednesday. Elementary students over 900
and middle school students will have class on Friday. I have secured
the help of a 3rd instructor for Friday, so we will be moving the
unrated/low rated middle school students to Friday.
