Dear Families,

Sorry I haven't gotten this out sooner, but I have a house full of family who evacuated out of New Orleans and things have been rather chaotic.  They are fine, but as you know, life won't be the same in New Orleans (and possibly my house) for a very long time.

I know a lot of you have told me verbally that you are going to the one day scholastic at the SW Open this Saturday.  That is good, it is one of our designated tournaments.  Jim and I will not be there, but Coach Jeff is going as the team coach.  Coach Evan will also be there, but he and Matthew are both playing in the 3 day main event.  So, Coach Evan will be available part of the time. 

This is another hotel venue without team rooms.  Like we did for the Houston Open in July and the regionals last Spring at the New Territories Club House, we need to bring a couple of card tables and some folding chairs.  It would help if one of you who is going coordinates this.  I also need someone to carry chess sets, score pads, pencils and clocks over to the tournament  They should be picked up Friday afternoon.

I still need a list of participants to give to Coach Jeff.  If your child is going, please respond to me by email as soon as possible.  Do not assume that my brain will remember if you told me in the hallway 2 days ago.
