Designated Tournaments
While the Houston area has chess tournaments virtually every weekend, the T. H. Rogers Chess Team has decided to target one event each month and push for a large turnout. The kids can still attend any of the others if they and their families wish. However, we hope the other tournaments will be "in addition to" not "instead of" that month's designated event. Note that the kids usually enjoy participation in the targeted tournaments for a number of reasons:
Note that 2 of these events are away meets, 1 in Plano and the National in either Denver or Louisville. Please see the discussion of Away Meets for more information about participation in those events. |
