2000 Texas Team Championship Results
The team "Tell Your Mom I Want a Refund" (above) won the Texas Team Championship held February 19-20 in San Antonio with a team score of 3.5 out of 4. The team members were (left to right, boards 1 to 4): David John, Selby Anderson, Ali Morshedi and Enrique Rios. In second place was the team "Later" (Jose Silva, Al Zerm, J.P. Hyltin and George De La Rosa) with 3 points. The first team U1900 was "The Blanks" (Gregg Stanley, Mark Harrington, Richard Lopez and Sarkis Agaian) with 2.5 points, and the second team U1900 was the "Methodist Hospital Chess Team" (Alan Rodenstein, Freddy Jones, Duane Solley and Alfred Miller) with 2 points. Top boards were: board 1, David John; board 2, Alfred Zerm; board 3, John Bell and board 4, Enrique Rios. Nine teams participated at the tournament held in the Methodist Specialty and Transplant Center at the Medical Center. The director was George John who directed for the San Antonio Chess Club.
